Make way for AlanRudnick.org

It is with mixed feelings that I announce that I’m giving up On The Bema in order to segue to AlanRudnick.org.  I started On The Bema in 2009 to blog on issues regarding Christianity and culture.  The blog racked up over 74,000 hits in its nearly 3 year life span. On The Bema accomplished as much as it can.  It enabled me to share ideas that were featured on Christian Century, WordPress.com, and other blogging websites. Some of the most shared and clicked blog posts are:

I’ve recently realized (with much reluctance) that most bloggers have gone with branding their name and blog. Though I’ve never been a fan of branding for us small time bloggers it seems that with the growing popularity of SEO, one must submit to the will of branding if content is going to be shared.

I’m excited for my book, “The Work of the Associate Pastor” to be published this year by Judson Press.  This book will generate a lot of discussion among bloggers, ministry leaders, and speakers on theories of pastoral ministry for associates and other staff . My new website will allow me to continue to blog on various topics, but also promote my book in a meaningful way. I will still blog over at the Albany Times Union on a regular basis.

I want to say thank you to all the readers out there who made On The Bema a success.  Thank you for coming back week after week!  Look for the new website this week!
